The Advocacy and Development Sr. Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships and developing advocates among key providers, business owners, and change-makers within the aesthetic space. This position is essential for building loyalty to the Merz portfolio. Key responsibilities include cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders; developing and supporting advocates to promote the Merz portfolio; collaborating closely with medical affairs, sales, and marketing teams to harness, analyze, and report scientific insights; and informing and executing timely next-best actions that have broad organizational impacts. This role reports directly to the Director of Advocacy and Education Development.
Responsible for:
Development
- Maintain existing relationships with Max Education Partners and identify and develop new talent.
- Create customized speaking engagements for programs at congresses and other events
- Implement social media in the development of advocates and educational programs
Collaboration
- Works cross-functionally, throughout the organization, on HCP advocacy insights and needs.
- Helps to determine appropriate advocates by program and opportunity.
- Clinical consultant for the creation of educational content for speaker decks.
Creating Win-win Situations
- Responsible for ensuring a balance is struck between the advocateβs goals and needs and the companyβs goals and needs. Β If the two conflict, it is the Advocacy and Developmentβs Sr. Manager's goal to facilitate a productive solution for both parties.
Providing Key Insights
- When internal discussions are occurring regarding the client, this position should be the voice of the HCP Advocate.Β They are responsible for seeing the discussion from the HCPβs point of view.Β
- Helps to update all commercial education components from a clinical and business perspective (as needed) and provides customer feedback to help continue to uplift the content.
Presentation
- Utilizes a respectful, courteous, competent, open-minded, and considerate approach at all touchpoints and in all situations as a representative of Merz Aesthetics.
Maintaining Relationships
- Takes ownership in problem resolution of complex and/or escalated HCP advocate issues requiring research/tasks and calls back with resolution or via written correspondence.
Flexibility
- Travels extensively for market visits, tradeshows, and events.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years working in the aesthetics, pharmaceutical, marketing, training, professional relations or hospitality space.
- 5+ Years working with advocates and opinion leaders.
- 5+ years' experience in a role that involves developing and training others.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent communicator and collaborator.

- Ability to interact with all stakeholder levels.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and able to develop slide decks.
- Comfortable working with multiple digital platforms.
Knowledge of Methods:
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to understand budgets and manage cost containment.
- Good understanding of clinical and scientific acumen.
