CONTEXT:

The Advocacy Project officer position is open due to the new contract funded by ECHO, and the workload that is predicted with the implementation of this grant.

The advocacy team composed of 12 members based in Brussels, Paris, Munich and Geneva.

OBJECTIVES:聽

Under the supervision of the Disarmament and Protection on Civilians Advocacy Manager, you will provide coordination and guidance on specific activities of a two-year project in drafting recommendations on the implementation of humanitarian commitments of the Political Declaration.聽

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. You manage project coordination and administration

Project Planning and Timeline Development:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Managing key project management tasks, including developing a project plan and timeline aligned with ECHO contract requirements.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor progress against project milestones and objectives.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate reporting with partners, in line with contract deadlines.聽聽聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Project Coordination:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate project activities, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with project objectives.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Liaise with relevant stakeholders to facilitate seamless collaboration.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify and address project risks and issues.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lead meetings with project partners, ensure decisions after meetings are clear and well communicated to the project partners.聽聽

2. You contribute to the production of the project deliverables relating to policy and advocacy

Organization of policy and advocacy workshops and webinars:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop Terms of Reference of workshops, based on provided guidance.聽聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lead the organization of one in-person workshops and three webinars over a two-year period, each focusing on different thematic areas.聽

Development of policy and advocacy material:聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Produce briefing documents for participants to the workshop and webinars.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop summary and main outcome documents, after each webinar and workshop.聽聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop Terms of Reference for researcher consultants on existing templates and previously defined research topics.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Together with partners, develop disseminating strategy for all produced documents.聽聽

Steer stakeholders engagement:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Contribute to internal and external stakeholders mapping of humanitarian actors and civil society organizations that have experiences in working on EWIPA related topics.聽聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Directly engage with a diverse group of 20-40 stakeholders, each offering unique expertise and perspectives, to ensure productive workshop participation.聽

. You contribute to other tasks on disarmament and protection of civilians:

  • Draft, review, and update policy documents related to disarmament and the protection of civilians
  • Contribute to development of funding proposals and drafting donor reports


Requirements

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 University Degree in political science, international relations, economics, law, or a related field with at least 3-5 years of prior project management experience (ideally with ECHO funding).

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Previous experience with multi-stakeholders dialogue, and organizing events (online and face to face) with officials, including States representatives;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Previous experience with advocacy, ideally in an NGO ;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Solid experience and knowledge in humanitarian initiatives and the protection of civilians聽;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Organizational skills to plan, implement, and monitor advocacy projects.

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex political narrative into simple content ;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong inter-cultural communication skills

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Analytical and mapping skills

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Highly organized, detail-oriented, and punctual, with an ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Independently with minimal supervision,

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in creating project plans and timelines;

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Capacity to collaborate effectively in a team and with external stakeholders.

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent written and spoken English, a good command of French is desirable

-聽聽聽聽聽聽 Very good IT skills - MS Office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point) and very good knowledge of social media
