The Fresno County Sheriff's OfficeΒ is offering exciting career opportunities for eager and enthused individuals interested in becoming a Community Service Officer with a focus on victim advocacy.Β
Under general supervision, the Community Service OfficerΒ performs a variety of law enforcement support work, security-related duties, and other related work for the Sheriff's Office. Β In addition, incumbents may be assigned to serve as a Court Attendant to assist Sheriff Deputies in maintaining public security and general administrative support functions within the Court Services Unit.
Note: The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur. The eligible list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill extra help positions throughout the county. Individuals selected for extra help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules. Temporary (extra-help) positions are paid an hourly rate for actual hours worked, are not entitled to benefits, do not obtain permanent status, and serve at the will of the department head.Β

Experience: One (1) year of full-time, paid public contact experience. Experience working with domestic violence victims is preferred.

OR
Education: Completion of thirty (30) semester units of course work from an accredited college or university accepted within the United States college or university system.
License: Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License.
Possession of a current First Aid/CPR Certificate must be obtained prior to the completion of the probationary period and maintained thereafter if assigned to function as a Court Attendant.
