Rutgers School of Public Health is seeking a senior level tenured (Full) Professor in any area of public health. Qualified candidates should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent with extensive experience and community engagement in the field of public health with a focus on LGBTQ+ populations. Additional requirements include a strong record of scholarly achievement, sustained extramural research funding as Principal Investigator, experience in teaching and mentoring a new generation of public health researchers and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ rights. The successful candidate will serve as the Inaugural Perry N. Halkitis Endowed Chair for Advancing LGBTQ+ Public Health & Tenured Professor, School of Public Health as well as the Inaugural Director Rutgers Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health at Rutgers Health.
Overview
Under the leadership of Dean Perry N. Halkitis, the Rutgers School of Public Health (R- SPH ) has earned widespread acclaim as a leading hub of excellence in the realm of sexual gender minority ( SGM ) health. During his tenure at Rutgers, Dean Halkitis has established the worldβs first Master of Public Health concentration in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) health, recruited faculty with complementary LGBTQ+ research programs, and launched the academic journal Annals of LGBTQ Public and Population Health with the aim of advancing the dissemination of research on health disparities and interventions. Rutgers School of Public Health faculty, students, and staff lead partnerships with critical LGBTQ+ researchers, activists, and community members to challenge structural racism and anti-LGBTQ+ policies in New Jersey and beyond.
