Job Title: Inclusion Coach

We are looking for an Inclusion Coach to develop or strengthen our Early Head Start and Head Start teachers' ability to include young children with special needs. This includes classroom assessment, goal planning, individualized technical assistance, assisting with the identification of children with special needs, and participation in the development of an Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) and Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

In this role, you will:

  • Completes observations of individual children as requested by teachers and their managers.
  • Provide suggestions to improve participation in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in identifying children in need of further evaluation and provide support to staff in talking with families about the need for further evaluation.
  • Assist in implementing IFSP or IEP outcomes within the classroom's daily routine and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • MS Early Education child development or related field is strongly preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Early Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education is required.
  • 5 years experience in Early Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education is preferred.
  • Experience working in mentoring/coaching with children birth to five with disabilities.
  • Experience in and knowledge of:
    • Training, coaching, or mentoring position with individuals or groups in applying knowledge/practice in early care and education settings
    • Child development and family dynamics
    • Early childhood education
    • Management in early care and education settings
    • ADHS child care licensure
    • Accreditation standards and systems
    • Quality early care and education indicators
    • Curriculum and assessment in early childhood
    • Early Learning Standards
    • Adult learning principles
    • Community resources
    • Processes of change
    • Care for children with disabilities or special health care needs.
