General Information:
Assistant Academic Directors (AADs) are a resource for high school students, Mentors, and the Academic Director (AD). AADs can change gears quickly and troubleshoot problems independently to implement and oversee the day-to-day logistics of their programs. The AAD is an administrative support position for the AD and Program Management Team that requires an academic professional who is reliable, responsible, flexible, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. AADs must also possess the ability to supervise a team of Mentors throughout the summer.
College Prep:
A 5-week program where students will be taking credit courses on campus while also receiving support through lectures, test prep, and group sessions with program staff. Students are required to participate in College Prep Seminars throughout their time on campus. The seminars cover three areas: Diagnostic Testing, Academic & Test Prep, and College Search & Beyond Academics. The College Prep AAD will work with the AD to help with the College Search & Beyond series of seminars to prepare topics such as planning and completing the college application, goal setting, studying, the college campus experience, etc. The AAD will prepare and support the mentors in leading discussions with the students.
