The Director of Grants Management is a curious, creative, and grant writing professional representative of the Indy Chamber’s Strategy Team. This role supports the Development Unit in strategic planning and implementation for grants and investor resource development, external relationship-building and works cross-functionally with other units of the Strategy team. The Director acts as an organizer, connector, communicator, and partner in our strategic efforts.Β 

Requirements

  • Leads grants management process: Readiness, Research, Relationships, Writing, and Reporting.
  • Responsible for identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant applications, and securing grants of all types (Government – Federal/State/Local), Foundation (Private/Community), Corporate, and Specialized opportunities.
  • Develops grant submission tracking and report deadlines systems processes with the Development team.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to support grant and investor reporting and compliance, including maintaining a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission.Β 
  • Support strategic project management, stakeholder convening, and outreach for development initiatives and special projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders for proposal information.Β 
  • Track and report on the status of proposals and follow up as needed.Β 
  • Maintain strategic relationships with Indy region organizations, Accelerate Indy partners, and community stakeholders.Β 
  • Support Accelerate Indy Council, Indy Partnership Council, and Business Ownership Initiative Board priorities.
  • Stay informed on civic, community, and economic issues to align with Indy Chamber initiatives.Β 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees are optional, kindness is not. (A college degree is not essential. Being a good human is).
  • Priority to candidates with a GPC or CFRE credential.
  • Preferred 5-7+ years’ experience in Fundraising/Grant Writing, Economics, Business Development, or Public Affairs /Public Policy. Priority to candidates with federal/SBA experience.
  • Deadline Choreographer. (You have excellent time management skills and can juggle multiple requests to meet multiple deadlines).Β 
  • Fundraising Phenom. (You have demonstrated familiarity with regional and national funder networks and are skilled at identifying alignment with Indy Chamber strategy).Β 
  • Syntax Sorcerer. (You have magical command over sentence structure and grammar rules).Β 
  • Autonomous Innovator. (You take initiative). Β
