We are seeking a talented individual to join our Controllership team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in New York. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Our team is purposed with leadingΒ an organization that deliversΒ accounting policies in the most effective way to ensure all transactions are processed in accordance with US GAAP.Β We are responsible for quarterly 10Q and annual 10K Securities and Exchange Commission filingsΒ and weβββββββ provide advisory support to Controllership to ensure accounting treatment decisions reflect current accounting requirements.
We will count on you to:
Lead and establish the group to engage with regulators (the SEC and the FASB) and trade groups to ensure Marsh McLennanβs views are represented
Develop policies and procedures to ensure dissemination and consistency of accounting policy globally including updating financial reporting and accounting policy content
Partner with the business and functional teams to assist in providing accounting guidance during deal structuring and contract negotiations
Lead and coordinate completion of special projects (ESG, global GAAP and IFRS policies)
Advise management of any new guidance released from the SEC, FINRA, IASB and FASB, which will have implications on the organization
Ensure implementation plans for new accounting standards, appropriately considers the Company's ongoing Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements
What you need to have:
Bachelorβs Degree in a relevant discipline
10 years or more of technical accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant

Experience working at the Big 4 preferably at the National Office or Accounting Advisory Services
Experience with revenue, consolidation and business combination accounting and experience with comment letters and accounting advocacy activities
