POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator supports and coordinates the Recruitment, Inclusion, Sustainability, Education (RISE) Pathways to Diversity Program, which is dedicated to expanding access to occupational therapy (OT) by engaging diverse populations through recruitment, education, mentorship, leadership development, and career support. Funded by a grant, the RISE Program will cultivate a network of diverse leader-scholars who advocate for diversity and inclusion, fostering a culturally intelligent workforce equipped to serve varied communities nationwide. Reporting to the Vice President of DEIJAB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, Accessibility, and Belonging) and collaborating closely with the Manager of DEIJAB & Ethics, this role involves project management and administrative support within the DEIJAB team, with a focus on the RISE Pathway Program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (Remote):
- This is a fully remote position, with the option to work in a hybrid capacity at our Bethesda, Maryland HQ or a shared workspace in Washington, D.C.
- This is a full-time, grant-funded role with an initial term of 18 months; this role is non-exempt and eligible for AOTAβs competitive total rewards package including healthcare benefits. Continuation is contingent on available funding and organizational needs.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines.
- Organize and coordinate Request for Proposals (RFPs), bids, and interviews for additional roles.
- Track grant funding and oversee program budget compliance with grant requirements.
- Engage and maintain key internal and external relationships.
- Identify and research potential funding opportunities.
- Manage applicant databases and track program performance metrics.
- Serve as a liaison among grantors, program participants, and external partners.
- Coordinate AOTAβs governance strategies, activities, and functions.
- Support member volunteers by managing data entry and reporting in the association management system for AOTA governance bodies.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of DEIJAB, Director of Governance, and Program Manager of Ethics to ensure effective operations.
- Oversee the RISE to Diversity Pathway Program application and selection processes via aligned software (e.g., OpenWater).
- Plan, organize, and coordinate training and orientation sessions for program participants and mentors.
- Proactively contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, embedding these values in AOTAβs DEIJAB activities.
- Assist with event planning, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
